In this powerful book that Dutch Sheets calls his life message, readers are given truths about who they are in Christ and how to become the person God made them to be. More than a book about identity in Christ, it is an action plan to help believers conquer the lies that keep them defeated and walk into a newfound freedom. Originally titled Roll Away Your Stone, it provides sound biblical teaching that shows believers how to walk in the Spirit.

It’s no secret that I’m a fan of Dutch Sheets. At this season of my life, I’m getting a lot out of his teachings and this book is no exception. If you’re looking for freedom from sins and issues that have taunted you for years, I recommend this book.

I didn’t know anything about this book when I picked it up, but for some reason the title appealed to me. In a nutshell, this book looks at salvation from the perspective of body, soul, and spirit, and Sheets focuses on salvation of the soul (aka sanctification). I’ve been a Christian most of my life, and I’ve never read this deep of an explanation of the salvation of the soul.

That’s not to say that he’s inventing a new approach or that he’s “discovered” something new. It’s actually the opposite: he goes back to the original Greek words to show how the English translations often simplify the more complex meanings of the words.

There’s a lot of info in this book, but it’s rooted in Scripture. It’s thought provoking, inspiring, and encouraging. I’m glad I took my time reading through it–even after taking my time, there are many verses and passages I want to revisit (which is sort of the point of the whole book).

I will definitely hold on to this book and will most likely re-read it (after I share it).
