It’s that time of year again–reading goals! I’ve very much enjoyed my two-part reading challenges the past few years, so I’m going to continue again for 2022.

– Quantity
– Variety

I won’t lie: meeting the challenge in 2021 was a lot harder than previous years. I was tempted to set lower goals for 2022, but that would defeat the “challenge,” wouldn’t it? With that in mind, I’m going to keep the numbers the same; I’m just going to have to be more disciplined in my reading (though I’m taking an honest-to-goodness vacation in 2022, so I should have lots of time to read!).

So here are my 2022 reading goals: a minimum of 75 books to include the following:

1. New-to-me author similar to a favorite author
2. Re-read a favorite book
3. Book set in a different country
4. A “daunting” book
5. New-to-me author’s debut
6. Read an author of a different race or background
7. Read a book club book
8. Mystery novel
9. Audiobook
10. Read a book based on the cover
11. Holiday novel
12. A friend’s favorite book
13. An animal on the cover

18. 2020 award-winning book

22. Classic children’s novel
23. Try a new book by an author you didn’t like
