On Friday I did a book giveaway. I’ve done that on the 1st of every month for almost a year now. I always interview the author first, then offer a copy of his or her book. I’ve done my best to get the word out, but I’ve been trying to think of ways to let more people know about the monthly event.

Then I thought about what a great job Sherrinda did organizing the Kissing Day Blogfest. She ended up with over 90 writers involved! I ended up with dozens of additional hits on my blog that day (and even a few more ‘followers’!).
In the meantime, I’m working on an article about a local educational endowment. Ever since I contacted the foundation I’ve been getting press releases.
BINGO!
What if we put together our own little network of bloggers who are willing and able to advertise special events for each other? Here’s my thought:
If you’re interested, email me. I’ll put together a lits of bloggers. Whenever you’re doing a special event on your blog (tour, giveaway, or blogfest) just send out a press release with the details a couple of days early. Each blogger can decide if he/she wants to add that to his/her blog that week.
I wouldn’t expect everyone to post all PR emails on their blogs (I just interviewed a speculative fiction writer – it would shock me to see it posted on a blog dedicated to historical western romance writers). And by doing the PR ourselves, it makes it easier on our friends to just cut and past some info.
What do you think? Is this anything anyone would be interested in? Do you have any suggestions for making this work? If so, then you can email me at kvbwrites(at)gmail(dot)com. I promise not to send you anything other than the list 🙂
