My first Bella Falls book, and it was such a fun read.

I love that the author jumped right into the story without taking chapters and chapters to explain the magical/supernatural element–she just wrote the story as if everyone should know/expect that her family has magic, her boyfriend is a vampire, and they might all live in the American south.

On top of the magical realism, this book had all the elements of a cozy mystery that I love:
– a little romance, but nothing explicit
– a crime without graphic details
– a cast of eccentric characters

If you’re uncomfortable with witches and vampires, you won’t enjoy the story, but if you like supernatural fiction and cozy mysteries, I highly recommend this book/series.
