I Love You, Forever by Robert Munsch

What was the first “real” book (with chapters and without pictures) you remember reading?
Goodness, this is hard! I think it would be Black Beauty (Sewell), but I also remember loving Matilda (Dahl) and the Sweet Valley Twins series at a very young age.

What was your most favorite book in high school?
Wow, another tough one… probably something really long and wordy so that I could feel cool having read it… Maybe Les Misérables by Victor Hugo? (Which I definitely did read and I absolutely LOVE this musical!)

What was your least favorite book in high school?
Lord of the Flies by William Golding, for sure. J

What was the last novel you read?
Besides my client’s works in progress!?!? I think it was That’s Not My Name by Megan Lally, but beside my bed right now is Kamilah Cole’s debut, So Let Them Burn.

What was the last nonfiction book you read?
The two on my beside table are: Hanging Bridge: Racial Violence & America’s Civil Rights Century by Jason Morgan Ward (I read this many times now and it is used in my research for my current YA project) and The 50 Final Events in World History by Robert J. Morgan

Which book lived up to the hype (from the past 1-2 years)?
My client’s book, Olivetti by Allie Millington! It’s simply phenomenal! But also, The Inheritance Games Series by Jennifer Lynn Barnes.

Which book do you love that needs more hype?
The Greatest Generation by Tom Brokaw. (I know, I’m weird, and maybe getting old…)

Next novel on your TBR (up to three).
I read a lot of YA because that’s what I write and represent. Right now, I’d say, The Reappearance of Rachel Price by Holly Jackson, Excuse Me While I Ugly Cry, by Joya Goffney, The Grace Year by Kim Liggett, and also The Lady with the Dark Hair by Erin Bartels.

Next nonfiction on your TBR (up to three).
I actually am very selective with nonfiction. I mostly stick with devotionals and bible studies… And right now, I don’t have any for sure to list here. Comment with suggestions!

Tell us about your newest release/upcoming release.
Morning Star is the second book in my Moanna Island Series. The first, Safe Harbor, won the AWSA Golden Scroll for 2024 Romance Novel of the Year and the Christian Indie Award, so hopefully this second book will be well-received too!
