Casey is hiding again—in Memphis this time—but it’s different now. She knows without a doubt that Dylan believes her and is doing all he can to help bring Brent’s killer to justice. He’s become an unexpected friend . . . and even, maybe, something more. Hope makes everything more bearable.

Casey makes a deal with the DA to turn over all the evidence she and Dylan have gathered against Keegan and Rollins—only to discover that the DA is in league with them too. After a desperate escape, who can they possibly turn to now?

Time is running out for Casey, but master suspense writer Terri Blackstock will keep readers on the edge of their seats until the last, utterly satisfying page.

A fitting conclusion to the series. There were a few things that popped out to me that weren’t necessarily bad, but just made me think/smile:

**SPOILER ALERT**

– There’s a lot of carnage. I assume Keegan’s just getting desperate and sloppy because I can’t imagine he killed that many people that frequently for 13 years and no one ever noticed.
– There’s a lot of crying. Dylan cries a lot for a retired army investigator. I’m not sure how Casey stayed hydrated.
– This is the second book I’ve read this year in which the couple assumes that a few minutes of kissing WILL lead to sex. I kissed a few guys before I got married. I didn’t sleep with them. It’s just odd to me.

Like I said, not bad things but they just stuck out to me.

After listening to this audio series in 4-5 days, I’m reminded why I don’t read suspense — I can’t handle it. I HAD to finish the whole series in a week because I could NOT wait to find out what happened. Thank God for the Instant Pot, because dinners were late and ill planned as I finished this series.

Overall, I really enjoyed my first Terri Blackstock suspense series. If/when I decide I’m ready for another does of literary action, I’ll definitely look her up.
