I wrote a novel manuscript. I edited my manuscript. I submitted my manuscript to an agent. My agent submitted it to publishers. And someone decided to publish it!
Earlier this year I signed my first book publishing contract with Elk Lake Publishing, and this week I found out my book release date – September 15!
I cannot express how excited I am about this! I wrote my first novel in 2007, submitted it in 2008, and have been writing, editing, and submitting ever since. Now, ten years after my first submission, with four completed manuscripts and more than 550 article by-lines to my name, my first novel is going to be published!
What does that mean for the blog?
I’m going to finish the novel writing series, but here’s the deal – this is my author site. Once my book comes up, I want this to be the place where people who read my book can find out more about my other books, my pets, and a little bit about my life. I had originally planned to make that change at the end of the year (after I finished the series on how to write a novel), but I’m going to start the transition a little earlier. I will finish the series here, but after that you’ll find all of my writing tips at www.writenowedits.com.
Until then?
There will still be author interviews. There will still be guest posts. But there will also be some teasers and first-looks at my novel!
For now?
Mark your calendar for September 15, when Summer Plans and Other Disasters will finally be available! (I’ll share more updates when I can – right now I’m still finalizing the book launch details.)
You finally get to read one of my novels – what kinds of information do you want to know about it? Me? My dogs?
