Before anything else…SHERRINDA WINS!!
I know, I know…I said I would pick the winner Sunday, but I left the conference earlier than expected and didn’t get to the internet…this is my first trip back here in over two days! Lemme tell you, it took a while to get through the 220 new emails. Oy.
But anyway, Sherrinda will receive a CD of Julie Dearyan’s session “How a Busy Life Can Feed Your Writing”, along with assorted random things that I picked up because they were free and I had a back pack.
Sherrinda…drop me a line at kvbwrites (at) yahoo (dot) com. I don’t have that CD yet (because it was a Saturday class, so they’ll be mailing it). But I’ll let you know when I get it, k?
I’m almost home. I’m staying at my parents’ house tonight because they’re going to take me to see Star Trek this afternoon, and then I can watch Game Six of the Stanley Cup Finals on my dad’s big screen HDTV (with Bose surround…it’s a rough life). I’ve now been gone since the 1st and am really looking forward to getting home. I miss my hubby (and the cats, even though I KNOW Midgie will sleep on me all night my first night back).
I’m not really sure where to start about the conference. It was fantastic…amazing…wonderful. I had a great time…learned a lot…bought a lot (but stayed within my budget). And my brain is now mush. I need to take a day or two to rest and let everything sink in (the last two days don’t count…I was hanging out with family, so there was still a lot of activity).
I WILL say this:
GO TO A CONFERENCE!
Do some research and find a conference that has the classes/editors/agents that interest you. Then cut back on the spending so that you have enough money to get there. Skipping a few meals away from home and not going to the movies for a couple of months will hardly feel sacrificial when you come back with a brain BURSTING with new info! I’m so glad I went.
Okay…Thursday. I PROMISE you will get the first big “post-conference post” on Thursday (I’m setting writing goals…highly recommended by writers and editors).
Have a good one!
Karin:
I ditto your endorsement. The Write to Publish was my third conference, as well as the largest. One does not have to be big to help you grow as a writer, though.
The best thing is, the people. Fellow writers, editors, agents. All a crazy bunch, but you won't feel so alone anymore!
Congrats to Sherrinda!
Jen
I'm not sure when I'll get to a conference since we'll be building our house next year and we want to do some of the work. I'll have to live through others, I guess.
Congrats, Sherrinda!
