When the Applegate Paranormal Preservation Society visits Firefly Junction, Sunni Taylor finds herself tasked with writing an article about the group as well as hosting them for an evening at the Cider Ridge Inn. When the society moves on to their next destination, the famously haunted Dandelion Inn in the neighboring town, one member dies in a tragic fall. But things don’t seem quite right at the accident scene and soon Sunni finds herself wrapped up in a possible murder investigation with her favorite detective, Brady Jackson.
London Lovett has totally sucked me into her Firefly Junction series with her fun characters and bit of supernatural flair. The mysteries aren’t always the hardest to figure out (and there’s a bit of repetition in the writing), but for a reader like me (a lover of light-hearted, clean stories that lift your spirits), they’re the perfect cozy mysteries.
Murder at the Inn is a bit different from the first two books because there are two stories happening: Edward’s and the murder mystery. This book definitely gives Edward more time, but he’s fun to read. I don’t fully relate to Sunni’s stress about their situation (feeling the need to hide info and feign ignorance), but it’s not enough to pull me out of the series.
This is definitely a series I’ll go back to later.
