The second Glass Library mystery, I was excited to pick up this book. It’s been so long since I read the first that I expected it to take a while to get back into the story, but Archer did a great job transitioning from Book 1 to 2 with just enough info to stop it from being confusing while not bogging it down with too much info.

That being said, I had hoped for a little more character advancement/development. While the mystery and the heist were entertaining, I wanted to see more from Sylvia, Gabe, Daisy, and Alex. The romantic in me would have loved to see a kissed hand or a declaration of interest. I’m glad the characters didn’t move backward, but I did want more.

The magical realism in Archer’s London continues to entertain, as does her vibrant cast. I’ll definitely come back for the next installment.
