When Sarah meets Eddie, they connect instantly and fall in love. To Sarah, it seems as though her life has finally begun. And it’s mutual: It’s as though Eddie has been waiting for her, too. Sarah has never been so certain of anything. So when Eddie leaves for a long-booked vacation and promises to call from the airport, she has no cause to doubt him. But he doesn’t call.
Sarah’s friends tell her to forget about him, but she can’t. She knows something’s happened–there must be an explanation.
Minutes, days, weeks go by as Sarah becomes increasingly worried. But then she discovers she’s right. There is a reason for Eddie’s disappearance, and it’s the one thing they didn’t share with each other: the truth.
If this book doesn’t capture your attention, keep going!
I had a hard time getting into this book (my first by Rosie Walsh), but I was on a long distance road trip, so I pushed on. I’m glad I did, because once it got past Sarah and her friends talking about Eddy, it started to get interesting. At one point I was ready to skip some chapters because I thought I knew what was going to happen, but I didn’t. And by the end, I was glad I stuck around because I enjoyed the heartache, forgiveness, and healing the characters experienced.
Worth Nothing: this book has flashback scenes which I do NOT like. I would have much preferred to start the book a week earlier and have a jump in time, but it is what it is. I wasn’t a fan of those scenes, but they were necessary.
If you like Jill Mansell books or Eva Carter’s Only the Lonely, I highly recommend this book.
