Discover how to break free from the chains of negative thinking and experience true freedom from unhealthy thoughts and emotions. The Enemy is constantly seeking to fill your mind with destructive and harmful thoughts—whether of fear, worry, insecurity, anxiety, temptation, envy. . . . It’s all too easy for Satan to manipulate his way into a seat at the table intended for only you and Jesus, and to try making himself at home in your mind. It’s an ongoing battle, but one you can win! In Don’t Give the Enemy a Seat at Your Table , bestselling author and pastor Louie Giglio shares practical ways to overcome the Enemy’s lies and instead find peace and security in any challenging circumstance or situation. By drawing from Psalm 23 as a framework, he offers biblical insight on how to . . . You can find freedom from the war inside your mind—if you allow Jesus, the Good Shepherd, to lead the battle. Learn how to find encouragement, hope, and strength no matter what valleys you face. It’s time to reject the lies and listen to the truth.

I honestly had never heard of Louie Giglio before picking up this book. I was searching for spiritual growth books and this one popped up as a recommendation so I picked it up. This book was exactly what I needed at exactly the right time–I don’t think I’ve ever cried so much reading a book as every chapter touched a different hurt and ministered to a specific need.

If you’ve ever struggled to understand Psalm 23 (why am I expected to sit at a table surrounded by enemies?), this book is for you. Giglio not only breaks down Psalm 23, he lays a foundation for understanding how to experience the peace described in it (even though you may not understand the imagery). He doesn’t pull punches though–while the enemy is real and fighting against us, we also play specific roles in learning to find God’s peace, and Giglio isn’t afraid to point out those areas.

While more scholarly believers may not think this book is deep enough or serious enough, I found the language and style to be perfect for a person struggling to find God’s peace (and possibly for newer Christians as well).

I will definitely recommend this book to others.
