From being off-limits to being in love with your brother’s best friend. Will Seema change Adrian’s philosophy on love?
Adrian is convinced that monogamy is overrated. No wonder most relationships end with cheating, separation, divorces, and break-up. Contrastingly, Seema believes in one true love, the foundation of monogamy. They argued as teenagers and they continue to argue today about monogamy. Adrian is her older brother’s best friend. Growing up, they were always off-limits to each other. Things turn upside down when the two move into the same city for work as adults. Will Seema change Adrian’s mind?
I’m always searching for new authors, and I love reading by authors of other backgrounds and diversities because I love seeing how differently we experience life, so I eagerly volunteered to read this newest release from Dhara Shah (a new-to-me author).
I absolutely love the idea of this story — quasi friends-to-lovers/enemies-to-lovers. They’ve known each other for years, but haven’t necessarily always liked each other.
Or have they?
Throw in a little forced proximity, and Shah blends my favorite tropes into a fun story. For me, the writing was a bit choppy at times, which made it tough to stay fully engaged in the story, but I’m also aware that I’m an incredibly tough critic — what doesn’t work for me will work for others.
Overall, the tropes and storylines in the book are some of my favorite, all stirred together to create an easy romantic read.
