It’ll either be a romance fit for a fairy tale, or a royal disaster…

Someday, Emmie Walker will open her own service dog training facility. Today, however, she can barely pay the bills. So, she’ll take whatever work she can get—even handling the world’s most pampered pooch. But falling for the dog’s bad boy owner is entirely out of the question. Or so she keeps reminding herself…

Prince Dorian Tennesley needs immediate PR damage control. With the press hounding him and nasty rumors swirling, a goodwill tour is his only option. The last thing he should do is start up a forbidden romance with his dog’s lovely new handler. And yet, keeping his mind off Emmie remains completely out of his control…

Is happily ever after even possible for a pair of polar opposites who found love in a most royally unexpected way? Emmie and Dorian are about to find out…

I’m not usually drawn to royal romance novels, but something about this book looked fun, so I picked up an early copy to check it out. This is also my first Laura Ashwood novel, so I really didn’t know what to expect.

Overall, there’s a bit of what you’d expect from a royal romance–different worlds, colliding personalities/expectations, “she’s a commoner.” But there was also a corgi and a girl who’s not afraid to stand up for herself but also cries when it comes to her family. There were a few times when I knew what was going to happen next, but even when it did, I cheered for the hero and cried with the heroine. It took a few chapters to get into the story, but once I was in, I couldn’t wait to see how it ended.

This was such a fun, easy, weekend read with all kinds of feels. If you’re a fan of Rachel Hauck’s royal romance series, you might want to try this book.
