Despite her busy schedule (a book that released June 1 and a grandbaby due to arrive any day), Christian author Kimberly Woodhouse took a few minutes to talk with me and tell me about her reading tastes and likes. If you’ve ever wondered what a Christy-award-winning historical romance writer reads, keep reading!
Thank you so much for being here! I know you’re busy, so let’s jump right in. What was the first book you read that you couldn’t put down?
I don’t know for certain if this is the FIRST book because I’m getting older… ha! But I remember reading Not My Will in one sitting when I was a young teen. It had such a huge impact on me. Powerful book. I don’t think any book has ever had quite that impression on me since.
What was the last book you read that you couldn’t put down?
Pepper Basham’s Hope Between the Pages. Sooooooo good!
Where’s the most unusual place you’ve read a book?
In an abandoned castle in Switzerland 😊
Goodness — you might have to tell us the story about that one! For now, though, we’ll stick to the interview questions: if you could visit any fictional place, where would you go?
I’m a sucker for Middle Earth. I’m a huge LOTR fan 😊
If you could turn any of your books into a movie, which would you pick? Who would cast as the main characters?
Our book No Safe Haven. Gracious, I don’t know who I would get to play the main characters – but I would LOVE to see it on the big screen.
What book are you most looking forward to reading next?
The Water Keeper by Charles Martin. I love his writing. Every book of his makes me think and I love that.
His books are not my go-to genre, but they are amazing! I’ll have to add that to my TBR. Speaking of which, please share five books from your TBR (to be read) pile.
Flights of Fancy – Jen Turano
More than Meets the Eye – Karen Witemeyer
The Lost Castle – Kristy Cambron
Shadows of the White City – Jocelyn Green
End Game – Rachel Dylan
Thank you so much for giving us a peek at your library and reading tastes. Now, please tell us more about your newest release:
Repairs on the Golden Gate Bridge Uncover a Century-Old Murder
Underwater archaeologist Kayla Richardson is called to the Golden Gate Bridge where repairs to one of the towers uncovers two human remains from the late 1800s and the 1930s. The head of the bridge restoration is Steven Michaels, who dives with Kayla, and a friendship develops between them. But as the investigation heats up and gold is found that dates back to the gold rush, more complications come into play that threaten them both. Could clues leading to a Gold Rush era mystery that was first discovered during the building of the bridge still ignite an obsession worth killing for?
