That’s how long I’ve been married. Tomorrow will be our tenth anniversary (though my husband will tell your our anniversary isn’t until the Saturday after Thanksgiving).
There are a million reasons to love my husband.
His keen fashion sense.
His kindness towards children…
… and animals.
I knew a lot of this about him when we got married, so it didn’t surprise me to witness it. One very unexpected result of our marriage, however, is my career.
Nine months after Matt and I got married, he was diagnosed with testicular cancer.* He endured two surgeries and chemotherapy, including the loss of all of his hair.
As Matt fought his physical battle, I needed to figure out how to cope with all of the changes and challenges. A life-long reader, I dove back into novels, devouring Janet Evanovich and Debbie Macomber books. At one point, however, I realized that the stories were great, but they didn’t reflect my beliefs or convictions. Instead of searching for just the right novel, I decided to write my own.
That first novel led to my first freelance article. Seven years later I’ve had more than 550 articles published, have finished four novel manuscripts, and run Write Now Editing and Copywriting Services. I’ve found a passion for fiction and copy writing, and I’m pursuing them both with every stroke of the keyboard.
When I met Matt I knew I’d met an amazing man. I knew I’d found the person I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. I just never realized how loving him would so completely affect every aspect of my life. I’m forever grateful and blessed to have met and married Mr. Beery.
*Matt is six years cancer free now!
