Imagine picking up the paper and reading about a murder in your small, quiet hometown. Then imagine looking at the picture – and it’s you! That’s what happens to newspaper columnist Cassandra Chase in “Mirrored Image” by Alice K. Arenz. Things get even weirder when someone breaks into Cassandra’s house, then attacks her, leading Detective Jeff McMichaels to believe that it’s not a coincidence. Something links these look-a-likes together, but what? Was Cassandra the murderer’s real mark? If so, can he keep her alive long enough to figure it out?
Make sure you’re paying attention when you pick up this book! Arenz take two virtually unrelated characters and weaves a complex web of connections and motivations. I had a hard time putting the book down as I tried to figure out how it all worked together. Arenz keeps the characters interesting and the plot driving in this fun, suspense-filled mystery. A must-read for the person who enjoys the challenge of figuring it all out!
