I’ve been taking some time recently to re-evaluate my career and how I spend my time. Obviously I’ve decided to cut back on my blog posts (if you missed that announcement, check here). One of the things I’ve also thought about is whether or not I need to refocus my blog theme.
I’ve been writing about my journey into publication, but I think I need to get more focused than that. The problem is that I don’t really have an area of expertise. I’d love to concentrate on what it’s like to be a teacher and writer, but I don’t teach anymore (and never did it full time). I don’t own a business, have kids, or make pickles, but I still feel the need to look deeper.
What is it that I can offer that no one else can? How can I really make my blog different? How I can make my blog special to me and my writing?
I don’t have any answer right now, and I don’t know how long it’ll take to find one. I may have to try out a few things here and there, I’m just not sure. What I do know is that I need to focus, so please consider yourselves warned!
QUESTION: How did you pick your blog theme? What makes yours different?
