It’s that time of year folks – time for conferences! While the ACFW Conference isn’t until September (and I AM going this year!!), next week I’ll be attending my first conference. This year I’m going to the Festival of Faith & Writing at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

I can’t believe it’s almost here – I’m not even CLOSE to being ready! My novel isn’t finished (I had hoped it would be done by February), I still haven’t ordered business cards (I changed my email, then we moved, so my old ones are worthless), and I’ve barely had time to research who will be at the conference!

I don’t like this feeling, because I want to be considered a serious writer. I don’t want to show up like a first-time attendee who doesn’t know how to get her career moving forward. But…one of the reasons I haven’t had the time to do these things is because of the time I’ve put into writing for the papers. So it’s sort of a good thing…right?

Anyway, I’m really flustered. Hubs and I are packing to go out of town for the weekend, so we’ll have a lot of time to talk in the car about what we want to do regarding my writing/subbing (haven’t had time for that chat yet!). Maybe we’ll get some things worked out.

In the meantime, I want you to know that I’m excited for the season and will be praying for you all. I pray that God will lay on your hearts which conferences He wants you to attend (if He wants you to attend any). I pray that provisions would be released to get you there, that God would grant you safe travels, protection for your families, and soft hearts and spirits to receive every good thing He has planned for you and your writing this season, whether you’re at home or away.

See you next week!
