I don’t know why I’ve been so excited about goals recently, but I can’t
help it. Each month I’m giddy at reviewing my progress and looking
ahead. May I?

July review:
1) Read at least one craft book – CHECK
2) Read at least three novels in my genre – CHECK
3) Read at least two novels not in my genre – CHECK
4) Write one devotional per week – I WROTE FOUR, BUT I THINK I DID THEM
ALL IN ONE WEEK
5) Write 500 words a day (on anything) – AND…BOMBED

June and July were really soul-searching months for me. I realized that
I’m not really a daily-word-count kind of a girl. I’m a
weekly-word-counter. And so, here are my new goals:

August*
1) Finish character interviews for novel #2 (I did one last month; I
should do four more)
2) Write 1-2 chapters for #2 (I’m starting fresh)
3) Query local paper w/ article idea
4) Set my own deadlines for ERN (the editor doesn’t give me any)
5) Write at least 2500 words per week
6) Write at least one more devotional
7) Enter FW.com challenge at least once

I really have no idea how much time #1&2 will take, but I want to make
sure I’m not setting the bar too low.

So there you have it! My plan for the month!

*My hubby and I are currently negotiating to buy a house. If it goes
well we’ll be packing/moving Aug/Sept. and all of this will get chucked
out the window with my hubby’s old sneakers. Just a head’s up 🙂
