Well, I wasn’t planning on altering my goals for this month (so late in the month), but entering that novel contest did it for me.

I double checked the rules for the Genesis contest. Now that I’ve submitted my piece I can NOT submit it for publication. I’ve already sent it places, but haven’t heard anything good yet. I’m not going to submit it again until after May 15th – when I will know if I’m a finalist.

If I’m not a finalist, I can start submitting it again. If I am a finalist…I don’t think I can, but I have to double check the rules.

The nice thing about this is that it takes some of the pressure off. I don’t need to submit the manuscript, so I can focus on my essays and editing my other manuscripts. Oh, and the newspaper. See how nice it is to have one less veggie on the plate?
