I heard what I understood to be an audible voice say, “This will be the hardest journey of your life. But if you trust me, Doug will be okay.”
Doug and Tammy Dove learned that death does not always have the final word. It is the Word Himself who decides whether life is sustained or snuffed out. Despite an impossible prognosis, a flurry of faith gave wings to hope. Hope valiantly persevered through the storms of uncertainty as Doug’s unconscious body wavered between life and death, confounding the medical professional’s’ expertise.
Upon awakening from a coma with an anoxic brain injury, the real test of faith came as Doug and Tammy learned how to negotiate the rough road of recovery. Their honesty and vulnerability will encourage and inspire you.
An absolutely amazing story of God’s strength and faithfulness, I thought I had an idea of what I read in the book because I met the author once. I was so wrong.
Dove doesn’t just lay bare the truth about her husband’s struggles in recovery, she’s open and honest about her own struggles as a caregiver and wife. She admits to her weak moments, then shows how they always took her back to God and the life he was doing in her heart and marriage.
The title doesn’t life–hope oozes out of these pages and into the heart of the reader. A truly encouraging and hope-filled story.
