Earlier this month I announced that I am once again rebranding this blog to tailor it exclusively to writers (fiction readers – especially if you enjoy clean, contemporary romance – can find me at the Romance Reader’s Café). My goal is to transform this blog into trusted source for fiction-writing tips and advice.

As this is a metaphorical rebirth of the blog, I’m going to start at the beginning of the novel-writing experience and walk through each step of the process.

There’s so much more to writing than just having a good story idea, and if you want to make a career as an author, it’s important to understand and hone those other skills. There’s no reason to write a story, then hope for the best. Being prepared can help increase your chances of attracting the right attention

This year we’re going to walk down the road to publication together. Here’s what you can expect:

–          Pre-writing: character development, outlining, etc.
–          Writing: motivation, expectations, etc.
–          Editing: self-edits, professional edits, defining edits
–          Submissions: agents, editors, and self-publishers
–          Contracts: what happens after you sign
–          Marketing: social media, local marketing, and other avenues

While I have a general idea of what I want to write each week about each topic, I want to make sure I answer all of your questions, so what do you want to know? Where do you struggle? What do you want to know about writing fiction? How can I help?

Here’s to a great year of post written just for you – the writer!
