The last two weeks have really opened my eyes to what a unique fellowship we share as writers. It’s taken a horrible bout of bronchitis, but I’ve really realized that I’m part of something very special.

For yet another week I am at home and resting (I canceled my substitute teaching job 🙁 per my doctor’s suggestion). Even though I can step away from my subbing, I can’t get away from newspaper deadlines – I HAVE to get these articles in. I’ve also committed to an online conference this week, so I HAVE to get those articles written. I can’t shrug off all of those people who are counting on me.

But what about my blog? I have an obligation here, too. But, oh, how fortunate am I!

This month I have four guest bloggers, plus I’m a stop on a blog tour, and there’s always my monthly interview, so I have ready-made blogs! In the meantime I can post announcements, but I don’t HAVE to come up with anything creative here…I’ve got volunteers!

And of the six people who are posting here or giving an interview, I’ve only ever met one of them! (Hi, Lisa!) Everyone else is taking time out of their schedules to help out someone they’ve never met.

And it never would have meant that much to me if I hadn’t been so sick this month. I never would have fully appreciated it if I could have written my own posts, but I’m so glad that I don’t have to worry about it right now 🙂

You guys really are great. It’s such a comforting feeling to know that I can put a call out for help and get responses…from people who don’t know me as a person, but understand me as a writer.

This really is a special group, this writing crowd. I’m so glad to be a part of it, and I’m so happy to have “met” you all. I can’t wait until someday when we can actually meet and I can give you a big hug of thanks for your support, encouragement, and friendship.

Thank you!!!
